Hub City Farmers’ Market

When Hub City Farmers’ Market says they are “more than just a market,” they mean it! Not only do they have a beautiful facility at Northside Harvest Park for their Saturday market, but they run a Mobile Market, a downtown Lunch Market, have an Urban Farm and also work on improving sources for local food, promoting positive food policy, and advocate for a sustainable local agricultural system.

The Saturday Market is a producers-only market, meaning vendors sell only things they grow or produce themselves. It offers a variety of produce, meats, eggs, plants, artisan crafts, and prepared foods. But there are reasons to go besides shopping, like a variety of events including cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, live music and more.

Northside Harvest Park is home to the market as well as their Urban Farm, along with The Butterfly Foundation, the Monarch Cafe and Fresh Food Store.  Harvest Park grew from an idea that a community working together could fight food disparities and offers Northside residents a chance to buy healthy produce within walking distance for the first time in more than a generation.

Visit the Urban Farm, situated at the rear of Harvest Park. It is about a half-acre in size and is focused on year-round, sustainable, and innovative farming methods. Food grown here ends up in the Mobile Market or at Monarch Cafe.
